Nepal Flag

Flag Adopted 16 December 1962

The only non rectangle/square flag of any country.  It was actually made of two separate pennants originally flown separately one above the other (now joined).

The sun and moon emblems originally had human faces. The crescent moon represented the royal house and the sun the Rana family.

The crimson is the color of the national flower, the rhododendron. Red also signifies victory. Blue is the traditional color of peace.
