Flag Adopted 14 August 1947

This flag was designed by Muhammad Ali Jinnah, the founder of the country.

The green has the traditional Islamic meanings of peace and prosperity with the crescent symbolizes progress and the star the light of knowledge.

The white stripe was added in recognition of the countries minorities.
