Flag Became a US State: 1836 Flag Adopted 1913 The central diamond shape in this flag is for the Diamonds produced in Arkansas (it is the major producer of diamonds in the USA). It was the 25th state, thus the 25 stars in the boarder. The three lower central stars are for the three colonial powers that ruled Arkansas (France, Spain and the US). The upper star is for the former Confederacy. |
